Bios

Beverly Mease-Buxton is President of Mease-Buxton Associates LLC, a consulting firm in the Washington, DC and Northern Virginia area, specializing in leadership training, executive coaching and public speaking.

She is currently a faculty member of the Graduate School USA and the American Management Association.  In that capacity she designs and conducts a variety of courses related to leadership  development. She received an award for Excellence in Training Supervisors at the US Food and Drug Administration.

As an executive coach Beverly holds the ACC credential (Associate Certified Coach) from the International Coach Federation and is a certified Resilient Leadership coach. She has clients in both the government and private sectors.  Beverly has given speeches at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration and the US Government Training Officers' Conference. 

Beverly is certified on the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and the DiSC, as well as the EQi 2.0, an instrument used to report emotional intelligence. She is also certified to interpret the Profilor, the Leadership Effectiveness Inventory, and the EQi 360; all are 360-degree assessment  instruments.  She is a member of the International Coach Federation and the National Speakers Association.

Larry Buxton is Principal and Vice-President of Mease-Buxton Associates LLC, a consulting firm in the Washington, DC and Northern Virginia area, specializing in leadership training, executive coaching and public speaking.  He comes to this position after a distinguished 41-year career as an ordained pastor in the United Methodist Church.

As an experienced congregational leader, Larry knows the unique and complex challenges of leading non-profit, volunteer and religious organizations.  

Larry brings decades of skill in helping leaders become stronger communicators. He has written and delivered approximately 2,000 weekly messages to congregations in his career and done so over 4,000 times.   He has taught and coached public speaking and preaching skills for 9 years and was the founder and Dean of the Virginia Goodson Academy for Preaching. He is also known as an excellent writer and editor.

Larry holds the ACC credential (Associate Certified Coach) from the International Coach Federation and the BCC credential (Board Certified Coach) from the Center for Credentialing and Education.  He is a certified Resilient Leadership coach, utilizing the organizational insights of family systems pioneers Murray Bowen and Edwin Friedman to improve leaders' functioning. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Metro DC Chapter of the International Coach Federation and is a member of the Christian Coaches Network International.
